Beginning Excel (6 hours)

 
Course Length:  3 Classes, 2 hours each
Prerequisites:  Familiar with Word, and Windows Operating System
 
Overview
Excel is a spreadsheet program that lets you organize, analyze and present data easily and efficiently.  Powerful tools, called formulas and functions, are provided to calculate and analyze data in worksheets.  Data can then be edited and formatted and presented in colorful charts.
 
Course Outline and Objectives
The class is presented with "hands-on" activities and handouts.  By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
  • Create and move around a workbook
  • Work with cell formulas
  • Set up the page, format text, and create a chart
  • Print a worksheet
 
Using the Program
  • Physical elements of the window
  • Create and save a new document
  • Select cells, copy, cut, and paste
  • AutoFill text and numbers
