Beginning PowerPoint (6 hours)

 
Course Length:  3 Classes, 2 hours each
Prerequisites:  Windows, mouse, and keyboarding experience
 
Overview
A PowerPoint presentation is a series of slides that contain visual information designed to persuade an audience.  Using PowerPoint, you can effectively and efficiently create professional-looking handouts, overheads, charts, and other types of visual aides for use in a group presentation.
 
Course Outline and Objectives
The class is presented in a lecture/demonstration format, with moderate hands-on activities.  Textbook and handout exercises are used.  By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
  • Create a new presentation using the AutoContent Wizard, PowerPoint templates, or by designing a presentation from scratch.
  • Use Slide, Outline, Slide Sorter, and Notes Page views to create and work with presentations.
  • Create an electronic slide show using special commands to set up the presentation, format the slides, and conduct the slide show using an LCD projector.
  • Use templates, work with color schemes, change slide backgrounds, create drawn objects, use ClipArt, and text formatting to change the appearance of presentations.
