| Overview |
| This class is presented in
a lecture/demonstration format, with moderate hands-on activities.
Textbook and handouts are used.
Intended for persons who want to learn how to use
the Windows XP Operating System. An operating system controls the
hardware of your computer and interprets the instructions from your
software and operating system to the hardware. Windows XP uses a graphical
user interface, which allows you to get up and running through the
use of pictures and graphics. Windows XP offers multitasking
and a consistent look and feel across programs designed to run in
Windows. |
| Course Outline and
Objectives |
By the end of
the course, participants will be able to:
- Start Windows, use the mouse, identify the
elements of a desktop and window, use the Menu bar, Dialog boxes, and the Help
System, and exit the Windows program
- Start applications, arrange application
windows, maximize, minimize and restore a window, and close an
application
- Work with My Computer,
My Documents, My Pictures
- Arrange folder windows
- Display file information, select files or
folders, create new folders
- Copy move, rename, delete, and recover files
- Copy and paste text in windows application
- View and save data in the Clipboard
- Change the screen saver
- Customize the desktop
- Change mouse settings
- Print a file
