THE DALE CARNEGIE COURSE

VENDOR: Dale Carnegie & Associates, Inc. - (517) 244-0687

COURSE LENGTH: 12 sessions (once a week for 3 1/2 hours)

COST: $980

CLASS SIZE:  30-40 participants

MATERIALS INCLUDED:  Participant manual, textbooks, and booklets

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:  Completion of ten of the twelve sessions.

COURSE OUTLINE: The course emphasizes three basic areas of personal development.

Sessions 1-4

  • Building confidence through a series of speaking experiences

  • Developing new attitudes in business and social relations, establishing rapport

  • Setting and realizing personal and professional goals

Sessions 5-9

  • Motivating yourself and others

  • Expressing an idea clearly and confidently

  • Generating cooperation and teamwork

Sessions 10-12

  • Leadership

  • Effective communication and motivation through human relations

  • Judgment and decision making skills

  • Changing peoples' attitudes without causing resentment

  • Leading and participating effectively in meetings

ACCREDITATION:  

  • Three (3) semester hours in Oral Communication, Lower Division Baccalaureate category approved by the American Council on Education

  • 4.2 CEUs by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training.
