COURSE DESCRIPTION: Carpet Installation is designed to teach participants how to select and install carpet.  Participants will also learn quick and effective methods of removing the old carpet from floors.  Carpet type, design, and durability will be discussed in detail.  This course will teach the novice and provide new hints and updated information for the seasoned carpet layer.

COURSE OBJECTIVES  To provide participants with efficient and skillful training in safely laying carpet on stairways.

BENEFITS OF COURSE  Participants will be able to:

  • Select materials

  • Determine project costs

  • Install carpet on floors

  • Handle tools safely

  • Select proper adhesives or gripper strips

PREREQUISITES:  None

INSTRUCTIONAL METHOD:  Lecture and demonstration, followed by hands-on lab exercises.

COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS:  To receive a completion certificate, a student is expected to satisfactorily complete 100% of the course requirements.  If a students fails to complete 100% of required work, a grade of incomplete will be applied.

REFUND POLICY:  If a course has multiple class sessions, a student must attend a minimum of two (2) class sessions or a minimum of 25% of total course/program hours (whichever is greater) to be considered billable.
